Please Pray for Emery

We just got an email from Operation Smile that Emery's surgrey will begin at 9:00am China time. It is 5:30am in Gansu right now, so she could be just waking up. Please keep Emmy in your prayers, and that she'll do well and have a safe surgrey, and that you'll guide the surgreon's hands.

Surgrey

Thanks to Operation Smile, Emery is having cleft palate repair surgery on December 13th. She has already had her cleft lip repaired before we got her refereal. Thank you so much Operation Smile for going to take such good care of our girl!!! Please keep Emery in your prayers, because who would want to have surgrey across the world away from your family. Praying God will comfort you and hold you in his arms little angel.

Dedicated to my little sister

This poem is dedicated to my little sister, Emery Hope Li Feng Sha. E, I love you with all of my heart, and I havent even met you yet!

The Legacy of An Adopted Child

Author: Unknown

Once there were two women,

Who barely knew each other.

One is in your heart forever,

The other you’ll call mother.

Two different lives,

Shaped to make yours one.

One became your guiding star,

The other became your sun.

The first gave you life,

And the second taught you how to live it.

The first gave you a need for love,

And the second was there to give it.

One gave you a nationality,

The other gave you a name.
One gave you the seed of talent,

The other gave you an aim.

One gave you emotions,

The other calmed your fears.

One saw your first sweet smile,

The other dried your tears.

One gave you a family,

It was what God intended for her to do.

The other prayed for a child,

And God led her straight to you.

And now you ask me

Through your tears,

The age old question through the years.

Heredity or environment…

Which are you a product of?

Neither, my darling… neither,

Just two different kinds of love.

Bittersweet Blessings

Alot has came about since we started the adoption process in April. We've had our ups, and certainly had our downs.
We had been praying about this as a family for a while, because my mom had 2 miscarriages, and we had always felt like there was suppost to be 5 children in our family (Emery makes 4, which possibly leaves room for another). The paperwork was very stressful, but we continued to persevere and looked to the future. By July, our dossier was completed and sent to China. August 7th, 2011 we received an email from our adoption agency with a photo listing of the special needs children up for adoption. Our eyes went right to Emery, and we felt God tug on our hearts telling us that she was to be our little girl. We sent our LOI from Disney World, and then had started to wait for our LOA. Then in September, our dossier was misplaced, and we had to redo the whole thing in record speed if we still wanted to adopt Emery. Through it all, we remained warriors of God, and stuck with it 3 months from the day our paperwork was lost, our dossier is DONE. It will be sent to China next week, them we start waiting for our LOA. I can't wait to tell E her story when she is older. I pray every night that God would comfort her, and know that she has a family 7000 miles away. It saddens me deeply to know that there is no possible way we can have her home for Christmas. I know I will never get to meet my precious little sisters birthmom. If I could say one thing to her, I would with out a doubt say thank you. I would say thank you for carrying my beloved sister for 9 months. Thank you for allowing us to adopt her, and give an amazing life to my very special little sister.
This song is so special to me. It makes me cry everytime I hear it, as it breaks my heart to know there are 1.47 million orphans in the world. Did you know that if just 7% of Christans adopted, there wouldn't be any orphans in the world?

Third Day- Merry Christmas
There's a little girl trembling on a cold December morn
Crying for momma's arms
At an orphanage just outside a little China town
There the forgotten are

But half a world away I hang the stockings by the fire
And dream about the day when I can finally call you mine

It's Christmas time again but you're not home
Your family is here and yet you're somewhere else alone
And so tonight I pray that God will come and hold you in his arms
And tell you from my heart I wish you Merry Christmas

As I hang the tinsel on the tree and watch the twinkling lights
I'm warmed by the fire's glow
Outside the children tumble in a wonderland of white,
Make angels in the snow

But half a world away you try your best to fight the tears
And hope that heaven's angels come to carry you here

It's Christmas time again but you're not home
Your family is here and yet you're somewhere else alone
And so tonight I pray that God will come and hold you in his arms
And tell you from my heart I wish you Merry Christmas

Christmas is a time to celebrate the holy child
And we celebrate his perfect gift of love
He came to earth to give his life
And prepare a place for us
So we could have a home with him above

It's Christmas time again and now you're home
Your family is here so you will never be alone
So tonight before you go to sleep, I'll hold you in my arms
And I'll tell you from my heart, and I'll you from my heart
I wish you Merry Christmas

We have HOPE

After much contimplation about E's middle name, we have decided to change her middle name from Arabella, to Hope. Why Hope? Because we have hope that E will be able to over come her label of special need. Even though her need is minor, and very correctable, we still are praying that it will not affect her in the future.

Her name now has alot more meaning.
Emery means Strength
Hope means Desire of Fufilment

I absolutley love my Mei Mei's name! We are blessed to be able to be thankful for her this thanksgiving :)
